Vehicle Description Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1966 Porsche 912
non-sunroof coupe. Finished in light blue metallic over beige
leatherette interior, this is an honest and attractive driver with
ownership history and service records dating back to 1985.
Original, numbers-matching engine and transmission confirmed by a
Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The engine was rebuilt to 1750
cc in 1998 approximately 14,000 miles ago; the car was repainted in
its present shade of light blue in 2007. Finish quality remains
very good throughout; 15-inch painted steel wheels are fitted with
chrome hubcaps with Porsche crests, and wearing Goodyear Eagle
Sport radial tires. Sealed beam headlamps with glass covers plus
amber fog lights and supplemental driving lights mounted through
the horn grilles provide ample illumination. Solid floors, rockers,
front pan and torsion bar areas with no known rust issues. Interior presents nicely in beige leatherette, with grey carpets
supplemented by and black-and-beige coco mats. Door panels, dash
and leather-wrapped steering wheel are in good condition; the horn
pad and headliner are presentable but show light patina. This is an
early-production three-gauge car optioned with an external temp
gauge. Pull knobs have been added to either side of the gauges to
control the auxiliary lights. All lights and gauges are working;
the Blaupunkt radio is inop. The original, numbers-matching horizontally-opposed four-cylinder
1600 cc engine was rebuilt with new pistons and cylinders to 1750
cc, and it's mated to the original, numbers-matching four-speed
manual transmission. This 912 starts easily and runs great; the
engine pulls strong throughout the rev range. It's fed by a pair of
Weber carburetors and has been upgraded with electronic ignition.
Clutch and gearbox feel good with no crunchy synchros and no
excessive play in the shift linkage. Four decades of service
records document the maintenance and ownership history, and all
service is up to date with no known needs. Spare, original stamped service book, COA and records dating to
1985 are included with the sale. For more information about this
